Peridot Center
The centerpiece of this design is a 1.94 carat round checkerboard cut peridot with a tantalizing green color and wonderful sparkle. It’s held in place by three prongs, one of which meets the stone at its topmost point, while the other two cradle it on either side of its lower half.
Customization Options
Customizing a piece like this can follow a number of different avenues. For instance, you may want to choose a different type of stone for the center. Using a diamond is one option, particularly if you’d like this piece to be a gift for a bride to wear on her wedding day, for instance. Alternately, you could go with a colored sapphire, which would allow you to include a shade with special personal meaning. Pendants
Changing the shape of the gemstone is an option to consider as well. A pear shaped stone would work well in a piece like this, as would an oval, and both provide a unique aesthetic while still keeping the basic framework of the design intact.
Another direction to consider when you’re customizing this piece is to use a different type of setting to hold the center stone. Going with a six prong setup rather than the three prong arrangement used here would bring a subtly different character to the piece, while switching to a bezel setting would produce a more contemporary look.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
