Black Tahitian Pearl
The main portion of this pendant is made up of a single black Tahitian pearl with a rich, dark sheen. These types of pearls come from the black lip oyster, which is generally larger than other oysters, and so can produce larger pearls. These kinds of oysters are typically only found in the waters around Tahiti.
Tahitian pearls are available in a range of colors, although the black is typically what comes to mind when referencing this type of pearl. Each pearl is unique, of course, and so you may decide to select the pearl to build your piece around rather than the reverse. The pearl in this piece has very slight undertones of green, yellow, and pink, adding to its sense of allure and mystery.
Pendant Design and Diamond Accents
The pendant connects to the chain through a loop on the top, and the main metal portion of the piece extends directly from there. It consists of a strand of metal that curves down to meet the top of the pearl, angling backward and around to coil on top before sending its tail piece down and across the front of the pearl at an angle.
This wrapped design for the setting provides a wonderful and dynamic movement for the piece, and the front-facing parts of the setting are lined with bright cut set diamonds. These add a great sparkle and glamorous flair to the piece, while also providing a nice contrast to the rich, dark color of the pearl.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
