Pendant Design and Gemstones
This pendant is dominated by the three gemstones it incorporates, the larger two of which are tanzanites. The third is a round diamond that’s bezel set in the middle, and this brings contrast and a brilliant sparkle to the piece despite its relatively small size. The diamond is 0.25 carats, while the cushion cut tanzanite above it is 0.75 carats, and the pear shaped tanzanite below is 1.61 carats.
The fact that this largest gemstone sits at the bottom of the pendant provides just the right balance to the design, and that quality is reinforced by the orientation of the stone with its rounded end pointing down. To complement this, the tanzanite at the top is rotated so that its corners sit at the compass positions. All of the stones are bezel set in 18k white gold, and they’re each joined to the stone above by two small chain links. Pendants

Using a different combination of gems in this piece is a quick way to customize it while adding some personal significance through your choice of stones. Alternately, you could simply switch the placement of the tanzanite and diamond, or you could introduce another layer of contrast in the form of a different colored metal.

Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
