Intertwining Bands
At the bottom, this piece is solid 18k yellow gold, but it quickly widens as it begins to move up the side, and a section of white gold splits off almost immediately. These two strands, one white gold and one yellow, continue up roughly parallel, widening as they go, until they reach the mid-point on each side where they both split again.
After this split, the inner strand of the white gold section curves inward to cross over the inner strand of the yellow gold, which also curves to cross underneath. The outer white gold strand, on the other hand, crosses under both yellow gold strands, and then meets its upper strand on the other side. The lovely intertwining movement of these strands gives the piece a dramatic elegance, and the use of two different color metals only helps highlight the graceful lines of the design.
Pearls and Diamonds
The inner strand of the yellow gold band is channel set with small white pearls, and these contrast beautifully with the brilliant sparkle of the round bright cut set diamonds lining the white gold inner strand. As these are the two strands that cross over each other most directly, the two sets of gemstones help highlight each other’s best properties for a truly stunning display.
