This gorgeous engagement ring features an old European cut diamond at the top, flanked on either side by a trillion cut diamond, and accented by bright cut set diamonds on the shoulders of the platinum split shank. Three-stone Setting

At the top of this ring, an old European cut diamond is cradled securely by four platinum talon prongs. The fronts of the setting are mostly open, providing a lovely view of the diamond from the side and also ensuring that plenty of light reaches the stone. Diamond Engagement Rings

A trillion cut diamond is prong set on either side of the center, and these are both oriented with one corner pointing down along the band, while one flat edge rests up against the side of the main setting. This three-stone look is a classic style and a traditional choice for engagement rings. The contrast between the soft curves of the center stone and the angles of the side diamonds gives this piece a distinctive character, and it also works well with the combination of curves and angles present in the design of the band below.

Band Design and Diamond Accents

The band is one piece across the bottom, and it develops a knife edge as it moves up the sides. A bit above the half-way mark, the band splits along the knife edge, with the two sides angling out away from each other to wrap around the section of accent diamonds on either side of the center setting. These accent diamonds are all round and bright cut set in a pear-shaped loop of metal that is overlapped at the very top by the side stones of the center setting. The shape of this section of accent diamonds draws both from the rounded main diamond and the angular side stones, providing the perfect transition point from the center to the delicate band below.
