Center Setting
In the center of this ring, a one carat round brilliant cut diamond is cradled in a tension setting that forms smoothly from the ends of the wrapped split shank below. The metal curves up around the top and bottom of the stone, leaving the sides open to light while also providing a clear view of the beautiful diamond.
Since this is the only gemstone in the ring, the design is considered a solitaire, which is quite a traditional choice when it comes to engagement rings. As is clear from this piece, however, there are many ways a solitaire design can be made to reflect contemporary themes and your own individual style. Solitaire Engagement Rings
Custom Filigree and Band Design
The band begins as a narrow, solid piece across the bottom, and it widens quickly moving up the sides before splitting about a third of the way up into two strands. These strands are equal at the outset, but the one on the right narrows as it moves towards the top, and it continues along a relatively consistent trajectory.
The strand on the left maintains its thickness all the way up until it reaches the center setting, but it curves out and then back in, eventually meeting the thinner strand at the top as it begins to wrap around the diamond. In this way, both strands combine to form the center setting, while the movement of the thicker strand provides a dynamic element to the design as a whole. Unique Engagement Rings
As an extra elegant touch, the space between the two strands is filled with curling scroll-style custom filigree that’s tailored to fit in the space available. This type of detail is completed by hand by our expert artisans, and because of this, it can be adjusted to reflect something of personal significance to you.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
