Sapphires and Diamonds
The body of each earring is made up largely of a pear shaped blue sapphire, and the two taken together total 1.46 carats. Their rich color contrasts nicely with the brilliant shine of the metal they’re set in, and the prongs in the setting meet the stones at two spots near the bottom as well as at the tip. The lower prongs are straight and round, while the top one is a chevron prong, which both protects and highlights the precise corners at the top of the sapphires. Earrings
A small loop connects the sapphire settings to the posts above, and the fronts of these posts hold round brilliant cut diamonds, also in prong settings. The diamonds total 0.33 carats combined, and although they’re significantly smaller than the sapphires, they serve as a nice counterpoint to the rich, deep blue of the larger stone.
Customization Options
If you’re interested in customizing this set, there are plenty of options to consider. You might decide to pick a different color sapphire, or a different stone all together to put in the main position. Alternately, you could experiment with different setting styles for one or both sets of stones. Bezel settings would give the earrings a more contemporary feel, for instance, or you could choose different shapes for the gemstones if you prefer a more angular look.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
