Sapphire Centers and Diamond Halos
Each earring in this set centers on a round blue sapphire, and the two together total 1.40 carats. These are prong set and they’re surrounded by halos of round bright cut set diamonds that sit just slightly lower down along the sides of the larger stones. The contrast between the rich blue of the sapphires and the brilliant white of the diamonds brings energy and dynamism to the set, and the halos are lined with milgrain beading for a hint of vintage flair. Earring Design and Customization Options
While the inner margins of the halos follow the perfectly circular curve of the sapphires, the outer perimeter is octagonal. This creates a more subtle contrast in terms of curves and angles, and it helps to highlight the lovely cut of the sapphires as well. It also reinforces the vintage themes already present, and it adds somewhat of a star-like quality to the design.
Customizing a set of earrings like this could involve substituting different types or colors of gemstones for those used. A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
