Description
These gorgeous stud earrings feature round yellow sapphires prong set in the center, with halos of split prong set diamonds surrounding them. They were created for a client from Mercer Island, WA with whom we’d worked on numerous other projects, and who had previously purchased the center sapphires from us.

She had a clear vision of the design she wanted, and she discussed this with our team in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom. We then put together CAD proofs of the pieces as we proposed to make them, and she quickly approved these to move into production. Design Your Own Earrings
Yellow Sapphires
The central focus of these earrings is the round yellow sapphires, which together total 1.21 carats. They’re prong set and the warm tones of the metal help enhance the rich yellow color of the stones. The client had purchased these sapphires previously from us, and she then asked us to build her design around them.
Diamond Halos and Earring Design
Each sapphire is surrounded by a halo of split prong set diamonds which sits slightly below the larger stones. The brilliant white of the diamonds contrasts nicely with the sapphires above, and this contrast only enhances the beauty of both elements. The split prong setting adds a lovely classical flair to the piece, and it also helps keep the amount of visible metal around the diamonds to a minimum. Earrings
These earrings feature a simple tension post back, which holds them directly onto the earlobe and eliminates any extra elements. The focus is squarely on the sapphires and their diamond accents, which is just the look the client was after.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
