Tahitian Pearls
Large black Tahitian pearls are the focal points of this set, and they’re each an impressive 11.84 mm in diameter. Tahitian pearls are able to grow so large due to the size of the black-lipped oyster they come from, and they can come in a range of colors, with the darker shades being more rare and so more sought-after.
The pearls in this set have a soft grey sheen, with just hints of yellow, green and red visible. As the specific pearls used in your piece will have a huge impact on the overall appearance, our experts will source them based on your particular requirements. Filigree Baskets and Diamond Accents
The back half of the pearls is cradled in a sleek basket composed of custom filigree and accented by an undulating line of split prong set diamonds. These diamonds run along the outermost margin of the basket, adding a glamorous sparkle and standing in beautiful contrast to the rich, soft color of the pearls.
Below the line of diamonds, loops of filigree emerge from the spot where the setting connects to the stud, and these continue side-by-side all the way around the back of each piece as well. The loops of filigree enhance the classical overtones of the design, and they’re lined with milgrain beading for an added vintage touch.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
