Carved Tahitian Pearls
At the bottom of each earring in this set is a black Tahitian pearl that’s carved in an organic pattern that resembles overlapping leaves. The intricate detail of the carving is highlighted by the way the light reflects off of the rich, dark surface of the pearls, and the leaves all come together at a point at the very bottom of each piece.
Tahitian pearls are generally larger than other types pearls, and that, combined with their striking color, makes them a popular choice for use in fine jewelry like this. They are especially good when carving is involved, as they provide ample surface area to include intricate detailing, as seen in this set. Earrings
Earring Design and Diamond Accents
On the top of each pearl, a sleek cup with four arms connects the two sections of each piece. These are detailed to look like the bases of flowers, and this adds to the overall organic look of the design. As the cups narrow on their way up to the bale, they make space for a small round diamond to be bezel set on each stem.
These two diamonds together total 0.04 carats, and their brilliant white sparkle provides just the right counterpoint to the dark pearls below. Despite their small size, they stand out, helping to add balance and a hint of glamorous flair to the design.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
