Pear Shaped Amethyst
The centerpieces of these earrings are pear shaped amethysts with a beautiful purple sparkle. They’re oriented with their rounded ends at the bottom, so that they taper to a point at the top, and this helps transition into the rest of the piece. Design Your Own Earrings
One option for customizing a design like this is to use a different type of gemstone in the central position. You could choose a birthstone or simply a favorite color, but using that kind of a detail to integrate a personal element into the design is a wonderful way to make a gift like this even more special.
Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the amethysts in these earrings are halos of round shared prong set diamonds. These bring a lovely sparkle to the design, and they contrast nicely with the rich color of the larger stone to help highlight the beauty of both.
Directly above the amethysts, princess cut diamonds are bezel set in a compass position, which allows the points of these stones to line up with those of the amethysts. Moving up again, two round diamonds are prong set in a marquise shaped base, and this connects directly to the finding. These diamonds help add some glamour and elegance to the earrings while also providing the right length to balance out the larger stones at the bottom nicely.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
