Amethyst Drop Earrings
Item #102657Earrings Description
Cushion Cut Amethyst
The main focus of these earrings are the cushion cut amethysts that dominate the front surface of the earring bodies. Put together, they are 1.75 carats, and they’re oriented to hang with their rounded corners at the compass positions, giving them a dynamic yet delicate sensibility.
The surface of the amethysts exhibits a checkerboard pattern thanks to the specific placements of the facets in this cut. That angular arrangement contrasts subtly with the softly rounded square shape of the stone, which, in turn, is highlighted by the bezel setting surrounding it. Adding to that relationship is the color contrast between the rich purple of the stones and the silvery shine of the metal. Earrings
Milgrain and Filigree
A double row of milgrain beading runs along the margin of the bezel setting holding the amethysts in place. This detail continues onto the filigree baskets behind the stones, helping to highlight their intricate pattern while bringing a healthy dose of vintage flair to the set. Larger decorative beads are also integrated into the filigree for added texture and detailing.
Customization Options
When you’re ready to begin the custom design process, you can reach out to our team online, or you can visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person. We’ll go over your options with you and integrate the choices you make into the unique design we develop in CAD.
For a set like this, some things to consider include using a different shape of stone or a different kind of setting to hold it. You might also think about eliminating the milgrain to create a more modern look, or you could switch to rose or yellow gold to take the classical themes even further.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
