These stunning drop earrings feature specialty cut square amethysts surrounded by a halo of shared prong set diamonds, with additional diamond accents leading up to the post, and all of these gemstones are set in rose gold. They were created for a client who fell in love with these gorgeous stones and wanted the perfect setting to display them.

Square Cut Amethysts
The amethysts in these earrings exhibit a dazzling fire that’s enhanced by the precision of the cut and placement of the facets. The square shape of these stones works with this as well, helping to provide the right space and frame for the stone’s natural beauty to shine through. They’re set in 18k rose gold, and they’re oriented with their corners in the compass positions for a dazzling and elegant look.
Diamond Halo and Accents
The amethysts are surrounded by halos of small round diamonds that are all shared prong set in rose gold. The halos follow the contours of the larger stones, with the only breaks at the corners to allow space for the prongs. The brilliant white of the diamonds is the perfect complement to the rich purple of the amethysts, and it also contrasts nicely with the warm tones of the rose gold the diamonds are set in. Custom Design Process
Directly above the amethysts and halos, a single round diamond is bezel set, and above that a line of shared prong set diamonds extends up to the top of the front of the post. These diamonds add a lovely glamorous flair to the design, while also helping to provide the right balance to the piece relative to the large size of the stones at the bottom.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
