Custom Amethyst Drop Earrings
Item #103390Earrings Description
Oval Amethysts
The centerpieces of this set are the two oval amethysts provided by the client. They’re large, totaling 13.07 carats combined, and they’re both bezel set. The amethysts and the bezel setting surrounding them make up the entirety of the front of the earrings, and this keeps the beauty of the amethysts on full display.
Earring Design and Milgrain Accents
The baskets behind the central amethysts are made up of a pattern of bars and triangles that alternate around the sides of the stone. A similar pattern is found across the base of the baskets, providing a subtle unifying feature. Earrings
Each of the triangles on the sides holds three decorative beads of metal, and lines of milgrain run across both the top and bottom bar framing the bars and triangles. The beading adds a lovely vintage flair to the set, and it brings an understated character that supports the central amethysts.
The baskets attach to the hoops of the earrings through a small link on both pieces, and this type of connection allows the drop portion of the earrings to swing freely while the hoops remain in position. The hoops are slightly domed on top and relatively wide, providing a nice counterbalance to the large gemstones below. Their smooth silvery color adds contrast to the piece as well, further enhancing the lovely shine of the stones.
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
