This elegant engagement ring features a princess cut diamond chevron prong set in the center, with a contoured halo of round bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain surrounding it. She had a ring already that she wanted to use the center diamond from in this new setting, and so we built a custom design around her beautiful stone. To make sure what we put together was exactly what she had in mind, we developed highly detailed models in CAD for her to evaluate online. She loved what she saw and quickly gave her approval for us to move her project into production.
Center Diamond
The diamond at the center of this ring is 0.82 carats and princess cut. It’s cradled by four chevron prongs that cup its corners, both protecting them and highlighting their perfect angles. This setting holds the center diamond up above the surrounding halo, which already sits significantly higher than the 14k white gold band below. Princess Cut Engagement Rings
Diamond Halo and Milgrain
The halo itself is made up of 24 small round diamonds, all of which are bright cut set in a square that follows the outer lines of the center diamond perfectly. These diamonds total 0.11 carats all together, and the use of the bright cut setting helps enhance the classical theme of the design. Halo Engagement Rings
Delicate milgrain beading frames the diamonds in the halo, adding a nice finishing detail as well as a hint of vintage flair to the piece. The corners of the halo are slightly rounded also, a detail which helps to soften the overall appearance of the center setting slightly while emphasizing the clean lines of the princess cut diamond at the top.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
