This stunning engagement ring features an oval center diamond with half moon diamond accents on each side of the halo and bright cut diamonds set down the shank, all set in platinum. We started with a quick mockup of the client's initial ideas. Then, we adjusted it and went through a few iterations with different diamond shapes and adding a halo before they chose the oval diamond center and approved the models for production. The end result was a beautiful engagement ring with an oval center and half moon accents with a halo.
Oval Diamond
The center of this ring is a 1.90 carat oval diamond. It is perfectly proportioned and framed by a halo. We printed a few wax models and showed the client different size diamonds, the 1.90 carat was their final choice. We made the adjustments to the CAD models as well as adding the halo, and also tweaked a few different elements to settle on the perfect design. Diamond Engagement Rings
Half Moon Accents
On either side of the halo and center diamond, there is a half moon diamond. Together, the half moons weigh .93 carats. This shape is a half circle with one flat side, and this shape is usually found in a matched pair. The client wanted to make sure their proportion to the center diamond looked a certain way, so we worked with our diamond partners to source the perfect matched set. There are many ways to customize this ring. The center stone would be beautiful as a royal blue sapphire, and would then be inspired by Kate Middleton's engagement ring.

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
