He had found some examples of halos and bands he wanted to combine in his original piece, and he knew exactly what type of center stone he wanted. We sourced several sapphires for him to compare, and although he couldn’t visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to select the center stone, the photos and videos we shared with him online made it possible for him to make even this significant decision remotely.
Center Sapphire
The centerpiece of this ring is a 3.83 carat oval blue sapphire, and it’s prong set in 18k white gold. The rich blue color of the stone stands out next to the silvery sheen of the metal and the brilliant sparkle of the accent diamonds found elsewhere in the ring. The client was very concerned that he wind up with exactly the right stone in the center, and we worked with his specifications to find a sapphire that produced exactly the look he was after. Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the sapphire is an oval halo of edgeless pave set small round diamonds. These bring their own sparkle to the ring, adding some glamorous flair along the way, and they also send additional light up onto the larger sapphire. This juxtaposition helps enhance the color and fire of the center, and the use of the edgeless pave setting allows almost no metal to show between the accent stones. Diamond Engagement Rings
These diamond accents continue down along both strands of the split shank, stopping just past the mid-point on each side and well after the strands come together. The split allows each side of the band to meet the center right below where one of the prongs in the center setting emerges, giving a nice overall balance to the design.
