On that initial visit, he found some inspiration pieces that he wanted to combine, and so we produced some rough composite images which we shared with him through the online workroom we set up to manage his project. He liked these images, and so we continued on to develop a detailed design in CAD. He requested a few modifications to these models, and we also grew a wax for him to come in and view in person before he gave his final approval to move the piece into production.
Sapphire Center
In the center of this ring, a 0.91 carat round blue sapphire is cradled delicately in four platinum prongs. The client knew from the beginning that he wanted a blue sapphire as the primary stone, and we brought in a number of different options for him to choose from. This allowed him to personally select the gemstone, ensuring that it was exactly what he’d been envisioning, while also adding to the personal significance of the piece. Band Design and Diamond Accents
The design features the client hoped to combine from his inspiration pieces included the split shank and the wrapped-style halo. Both are present in this ring, as the band splits about half-way up each side. A pear-shaped diamond is prong set at the point of this split, and bright cut set diamonds lined with milgrain run up both emerging strands on the top and front surfaces. The two strands diverge and intertwine with those from the other side, eventually looping back in to meet each other on the opposite side of the stone. This brings a dynamic movement to the design, and it creates just the sort of intricate yet classic look the client was after.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
