Center Setting
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.30 carat cushion shaped diamond, and it’s cradled beautifully in four platinum prongs that rise up from a single point in the U-shaped depression on the top of the band. The client was very concerned about getting the perfect diamond to fill this role, and we presented him with several excellent options. After evaluating their specs and GIA certifications, he came into the store to see them in person and make his selection.
Band Design and Diamond Accents
The band of this ring is flat, and it maintains a normal curve most of the way around. As it nears the top, however, the band begins to curve up and out slightly, eventually coming to a point on each side of the center setting. These two points are connected by a U-shaped bridge, and it is from this section that the main setting originates.
Two diamonds sit together on each of the points, and these provide a nice complement to the larger diamond when the piece is viewed straight on from the top. The fronts of the band are also lined with pave set diamonds all the way around, and there are pave set diamonds on the shank shoulders as well. These are arranged in squares made up of groups of four, and the squares are staggered going down the sides of the shank.
Each side of the band has five squares, and thin grooves run down the middle of the band between them, creating the illusion that they’re strung together as on a chain. Milgrain beading lines the diamonds on the fronts of the ring, and it encircles the top sections as well to bring a bit of vintage flair to an otherwise contemporary design. Custom Engagement Rings
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
