18k Yellow Gold Custom Blue Sapphire Engagement Ring

Sapphire Center and Halo
The centerpiece of this ring is a cushion cut blue sapphire with a dazzling and delicate color. It’s prong set in platinum, and it’s surrounded by a halo of bright cut set diamonds that follows its contours exactly. This halo brings a lovely contrast to the design, and it also helps the sapphire shine more brightly thanks to the added light the diamonds reflect up onto it. Halo Engagement Rings
Although diamonds are typically thought of first as the center stones in engagement rings, sapphires have frequently occupied this place as well. They’re nearly as hard as diamonds, coming in at a 9 on the Mohs Scale of hardness, and they can be found in many different colors, making it possible to work in your partner’s eye color or an otherwise significant shade as an added personal touch. Split Shank and Diamond Accents
The split in the shank of this ring extends from the end of the center setting nearly all the way down to the bottom of the ring. Only the piece right across the bottom is solid, and this helps enhance the elegant look of the ring while simultaneously balancing out the large center setting.
On the sides of the halo, two pear shaped diamonds are prong set, and these complete the three-stone design. They are positioned with their points down, which aids the transition to the shank below. Both split strands on either side are lined with round bright cut set diamonds, and these are bordered by milgrain beading just as those in the halo are. The milgrain provides the perfect frame for these accent stones, and it completes the connection to the center setting, giving the ring a finished and elegant look.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
