This lovely engagement ring features an oval red garnet in the center framed by three tiny cluster-set diamonds on either side, all held in place with 18k white gold. The client visited us in person in our Bellevue showroom to begin the process. After viewing different ring designs, they settled on one main inspiration piece and we built this ring in CAD to the exact measurements of the client's stone as well as the structural standards we maintain for the ring to last generations.
Center Gemstone
Garnet is the birthstone for January. This particular stone is dark red, which is the more traditional variation of garnet. Garnet can also be found in varying shades of green, orange, pink, reddish brown, and yellow.
This stone is cut as an oval and measures 8x6 mm. This is the equivalent measurement of an oval diamond that is just over one carat. This ring can be made to hold any size or shape gemstone or diamond, and our designers will show you what your ring looks like in CAD before moving on to cast it in metal. Diamond Accents
To enhance the center garnet, there are three tiny diamonds on each side of the oval. Together, they weigh .05 carats. They are cluster set in a triangle shape, long side parallel to the oval, with the point of the triangle pointing outwards. From there, the cathedral band tapers outwards to compose the rest of the simple, polished white gold shank. Engagement Rings

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
