Description
This stunning engagement ring features a radiant cut amethyst double prong set in a criss-cross white gold band, surrounded by a halo of bright cut set diamonds. It was created for a client from Issaquah, WA, who fell in love with the design of a ring she saw in our showcase when she visited our Bellevue, WA showroom.

Using this piece as an inspiration, she worked with our staff to add her own personal touch, and the result is the unique ring seen here. To make sure the piece we produced was exactly what she had in mind, she communicated with our staff both online and in person to pick out the stones and finalize all design details.
Center Amethyst
The center stone in this ring is a 1.25 carat radiant cut amethyst with a rich purple color. This contrasts wonderfully with the 14k white gold of the double prong setting holding it in place, as well as with the sparkling diamond accents, and that really helps the amethyst stand out.
The type of setting used is a perfect complement to the shape of the amethyst, as it lifts the stone up just enough to offset it from the rest of the ring without making it look disproportionate. The client had originally wanted a larger stone, but when she saw various models and options, she decided she preferred this size over the others.
Diamond Halo and Band Design
Surrounding the amethyst is a squared halo of bright cut set diamonds, and these bring both contrast and additional sparkle to the piece. Using diamonds in this way with a larger colored gemstone can also help to enhance the brilliance of the latter because of the way the diamonds reflect light back up onto it.
Bright cut set diamonds are also found on the outer perimeter of the halo, and they continue down the shoulders of the criss-cross shank, ending at about the three-quarter point. This is also the spot where the two strands of the band come together for good, forming a solid piece across the bottom of the ring.
The soft curves of the criss-cross band work in opposition to the squared shape of the center setting, but the use of accent diamonds in both places helps to unite them, giving the piece a lovely overall balance and grace. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
