She already had the diamond she wanted to use, and we took the information she gave us about the other types of styles and features she wanted to include to develop a unique design for her. It was based loosely on one of our other original pieces, but we made several modifications to make it perfectly match her personal style as well as to accommodate her stunning center stone. Center Setting
The diamond we built this ring around is a 1.5 carat asscher cut stone, and it’s held in a wrapped tension setting that arises naturally from the criss-cross shank below. The diamond is set so that its corners occupy the compass positions, which is the placement the client requested. This arrangement flows smoothly with the movement of the rest of the design, complementing the cross-over pattern of the bands below nicely. Unique Engagement Rings
Band Design and Diamond Accents
This ring is actually made up of two bands joined together in a style that combines the engagement ring and wedding band into one. The outer band is smooth, and it tapers as it nears the top to facilitate the transition into the setting for the center diamond. The inner band features round bright cut set diamond accents running along the top half, and it sits across the outer band, allowing the diamond accents to pass directly below the center stone. The accent diamonds are both black and white, and they’re set in an alternating pattern that complements the dark plating on the metal nicely. The contrast in the accents highlights the contrasts found elsewhere in the piece as well, and even the smaller diamonds’ round shape complements the more angular asscher cut.
