Custom Diamond And Blue Sapphire Interlocking Engagement Ring
Item #102340Engagement Ring Description
Although he couldn’t come in personally to our Bellevue, WA showroom, we used our high-tech 3D imaging software to show him the ring we came up with. And to make sure we really had it just the way he wanted it, we created wax molds of several iterations of the design and shipped them to him for inspection and final approval before putting anything into production.
Center Diamond
The diamond at the center of this ring is nearly 2 carats, and it was supplied by the client for us to set. Its a round brilliant cut stone, and it’s displayed beautifully in this double prong setting. You can absolutely go this route and either use a gem you already have or purchase one on your own, and then bring it to us to set. But we can also source all gems for you, and if you’d like, you can come view and approve them before we put them into your piece. Diamond Engagement Rings
We can also adjust designs to accommodate smaller or larger gems to a certain extent. For instance, the inspiration ring this client wanted us to draw from included a significantly smaller main stone. Because of that, he asked that we increase the size of the accent sapphires as well to keep the proportions of the piece the same.
Sapphire Accents
Five blue sapphires run down the shoulder of the shank on each side of the center stone, and these are tapered slightly in size as they move away from the top. They’re princess cut and channel set, which keeps them almost flush with the surface of the ring and leaves no metal showing between them.
Interlocking Wedding Band
After we created the engagement ring, the client came back to us to have a custom interlocking wedding band made to go with it. The band we created wraps around the engagement ring on both sides, framing it beautifully. It includes hand engraving that matches the pattern on the engagement ring, and it also features custom filigree and milgrain beading, all of which combine to create a wonderful antique look that was just what the client was going for.
Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
