Center Diamond and Setting
The lone diamond in this ring is an Old European cushion cut, and it comes in at 0.85 carats. This type of cut features a smaller table and a larger cutlet than a more modern style would, and it helps to emphasize the beautiful color of the stone rather than maximizing its sparkle.
The shape of the stone is another important element of this piece, as it’s slightly squared with rounded corners. This works perfectly with the organic shape of the band, and it’s framed beautifully by the 14k yellow gold bezel setting. Diamond Engagement Rings
Hammered Band
The band of this ring is quite narrow, with the hammered finish applied to it giving it a bumpy surface reminiscent of a twig or vine. That’s what generates the organic overtones, and it helps make the band seem even more delicate and elegant that it would otherwise.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
