Center Setting and Halo
The main highlight of this ring is the 0.67 carat marquise-shaped diamond that’s bezel set in platinum at the very top. The way the bezel setting frames the stone both highlights its shape and softens its appearance somewhat, making it a beautiful choice for displaying such a distinctive diamond. Set slightly lower than the main stone is a halo of round brilliant cut diamonds that’s contoured to follow the marquise shape of the center stone. The gems making up the halo are set in 18k yellow gold, the warmth of which provides a stunning contrast to the brilliant white of the diamonds.
Accent Diamonds
Round bright cut set diamond also line both shoulders of the platinum split shank, and they end right at the point where the two pieces come together, about half-way down the side of the band. These are lined with milgrain beading, as are the diamonds in the halo, a detail that gives the ring a lovely vintage flair.
Two larger round diamonds are prong set in the space between the two strands of split shank on each side of the center setting. They provide a nice counterpoint to the marquise at the top, and taken together, they total nearly the same carat weight as the center stone.
