We collaborated with him online, and when we were close to finalizing the design, he came into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to view a wax model of the piece. At this point, he gave his approval to move the ring into production, and our expert artisans brought their considerable skills to bear to create this stunning piece.
Center Setting
There are two diamonds sharing the center stage in this ring, and they’re both set at an angle relative to the split, criss-cross shank below. One diamond is pear shaped, while the other is marquise, and both are 1.50 carats. They are prong set in platinum with each end of the split shank coming up to form part of the setting for one or the other of the stones.
The way the two diamonds are oriented, with the flat end of the pear shaped diamond up against the side of the marquise, gives them a combined shape vaguely reminiscent of a stylized heart. This is a very uncommon arrangement for a number of reasons, including the fact that there are two main diamonds of roughly the same size, all of which helps to magnify the uniqueness of the design. Diamond and Milgrain Accents
The split criss-cross shank is lined on both the top and fronts with round bright cut set diamond accents bordered with milgrain. These accents help emphasize the graceful movement of the shank strands as they separate and then intertwine around the larger diamonds at the top. The setting style and the inclusion of milgrain around the accent diamonds also brings a nice vintage flair to the piece. Vintage Engagement Rings

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
