Description

This beautiful engagement ring features a round pink sapphire set in white gold, with princess cut amethyst accents. It was created for a client from Everett, WA, who initially reached out to us online to begin the custom design process. He liked one of the rings he had found on our site, but he wanted to add a personal touch by using different gemstones, and we were able to accommodate his request.

Although we completed the custom design process online, he did come into our Bellevue, WA showroom to pick up the piece in person, and he was very happy with the end result.

Center Sapphire

The stone in the center of this ring is a 1.28 carat round pink sapphire, and its beautiful, rosy color is complemented nicely by the contrast with the 14k white gold prongs holding it in place. Sapphires are frequently used as an alternative to diamonds in engagement rings due to their extreme hardness, which makes them able to stand up to the rigors of daily wear.

Sapphires also come in many different colors, and that makes it possible to add a favorite or personally significant color to your piece. This pink stone, for instance, brings with it overtones of faithfulness and romantic love, which are wonderful sentiments to include in such a special ring.

Channel Set Amethysts

Accenting the center sapphire, rows of princess cut amethysts are channel set on the shank shoulders, with six on each side. These have a rich purple color that acts to add another layer of contrast to the design. It plays off of the pink at the top, as well as the brilliant white of the band, and in the process, unifies the different areas of the ring.

Personalizing Your Piece

Replacing the gemstones in a ring like this with some that have special significance for you and your partner is one way to add a personal touch to your piece. It’s not the only option, though, and our experts will work with you to find the perfect way to personalize your piece. Some other possibilities include experimenting with different types of settings for the stones or switching to a different type of metal like rose or yellow gold. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Customize

Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.

Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.

  1. Design and estimate

The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.

  2. 3D design review

After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.

  3. Physical model

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.

  4. Approval and production

The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
