He found a piece he wanted to customize on that visit, and so we put together a set of highly-detailed CAD proofs based on his stated preferences. He was very happy with what we came up with, and quickly approved these models to move straight into production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Three-stone Setting
The three-stone look is a popular one for engagement rings, but there are many ways to execute it, as this piece ably demonstrates. The centerpiece of the design is a 1.62 carat marquise cut diamond, and it’s set lengthwise across the band. The narrow, elongated shape of the diamond complements the delicate band nicely, and it also contrasts subtly with the straighter lines of the side stones. Diamond Engagement Rings
These side stones are baguette diamonds that taper as they move away from the center. They’re tension set between the side of the center setting and the top part of the band, and they fit perfectly between the pairs of prongs on each side of the larger diamond at the top. These four side prongs are balanced out by two Chevron prongs that cradle the main diamond’s points, simultaneously protecting them and highlighting the stone’s elegant shape.
Custom Wedding Sets
We can work with you to modify this piece on its own or as part of a complete wedding set. Especially if you’re looking at an engagement ring design like this, you’ll want to consider the type of wedding ring you’d ultimately like to have, whether or not you’re ready to make both at the same time. That’s because details of the engagement ring may impact what wedding band designs are possible, and so that may dictate some of the modifications to the piece you ultimately decide to make.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
