Description
This stunning engagement ring features a round blue diamond tension set in a wrapped white gold shank, with filigree, milgrain, and hand-engraved accents. It was created for a client from Sammamish, WA, who found a ring he liked in our Bellevue showroom and worked with our team to customize it.

We shared high-quality CAD images of the ring we proposed to make for him online, and he requested some minor adjustments before approving our design. He also came in again to select the diamond for the center, and he was thrilled with the way the finished piece turned out.
Blue Diamond
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.81 carat round brilliant cut blue diamond, and its rich, almost turquoise color was exactly what the client was looking for. It contrasts wonderfully with the lovely silver of the 14k white gold band, and the way the ends of the shank wrap around it to form a tension setting bring a lovely movement and grace to the piece.
A diamond solitaire is a favorite when it comes to engagement rings, and this is an elegant variation on that theme. The use of the blue diamond for the center brings color and contrast to the design while still sticking with the classic engagement ring gemstone, and the unique setting style helps make this a truly eye-catching piece. Custom Hand Engraving and Filigree
A beautiful hand-engraved wheat pattern covers the top and fronts of the shank. The engraving is framed perfectly by delicate milgrain beading, and this brings a lovely vintage flair to the piece as well.
As the band nears the center setting, it narrows and flattens vertically, creating an open space below the shank shoulders and center diamond. This is filled with hand-made filigree, the pattern of which mirrors perfectly the graceful lines found in the rest of the piece. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
Lifetime warranty and care

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
