Solitaire Setting
This ring is considered a solitaire because the main diamond at the top is the only gemstone in the piece. It is a very traditional choice for an engagement ring, but it’s also a style that’s open to any number of customizations to help you make it unique. Solitaire Engagement Rings
The diamond in this particular ring is 1.80 carats and round brilliant cut. The six prong setting that cradles it rises directly out of the top of the band, and it follows the contours of the stone closely. The use of six rather than four prongs both adds security to the setting and gives the ring a subtle floral aesthetic.
Euroshank
The shank thickens slightly on the lower left and lower right, forming soft corners that are the hallmark of the Euroshank design. This feature is useful for balancing out a large center stone, as it helps keep the ring from spinning on the finger and maintains the stone upright so its full beauty is always on display.
Matching Wedding Sets
The wedding ring we created to go with this piece is a straight band that’s channel set with diamonds and lined with milgrain. It’s also made out of platinum, and the two line up together perfectly. 3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
