Description
This dazzling engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a platinum trellis setting, accented by bright cut set diamonds on the shoulders of the tapered shank below. It was created for a couple from Bellevue, WA, who began the custom design process by visiting our Bellevue, WA showroom personally. Bellevue Location

They selected two rings during that visit that they wanted to base their unique design off of, and we created CAD models to reflect the elements they’d chosen. After leaving the store, they did find some other similar rings they wanted to incorporate features from as well, and so we adjusted our models until they were completely satisfied that we’d captured their vision. Center Setting
At the top of this ring, a 1.66 carat round brilliant cut diamond is held in place by four platinum prongs that rise smoothly up from the trellis setting below. The elegant crossing of the prongs on both ring fronts is the hallmark of this type of setting, and it was very important to the clients that this be included in their piece.
They did have us create two different wax models of their design to compare side by side, with the center setting in one slightly raised so that a straight wedding band could sit flush up against the engagement ring. After giving it some thought, however, they decided they liked the lower setting better even though it would require a contoured band to match when the time came. Matching Wedding Sets
Diamond Accents
Three round diamonds are bright cut set on each shank shoulder, and they taper in size moving away from the top, following the contours of the band. These six diamonds total 0.11 carats combined, and they add a lovely sparkle that helps highlight the dazzling shine of the larger stone at the top.
Band Design and Customization
The clients had initially imagined including custom hand engraving on the top of the band as well, but after looking at more example pieces, they decided to go with a smooth, flat band and only a small inscription on the inside. They also requested that we narrow the band a bit from our initial models, making it thinner to create a more delicate, elegant look.
