He had a general idea about the kinds of features he wanted the ring to have, and he knew precisely what color center stone he wanted. Working from this information, we sourced a beautiful stone for him, and once he approved it, we built his design around it. Although he never visited our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, the online workroom we set up to manage his project provided the perfect platform to share CAD models and exchange design ideas, allowing us to produce a finished piece that perfectly matched his vision. Center Tourmaline
This ring was built around a 1.86 carat pear shaped Paraiba tourmaline, which is held in a prong setting made from 14k rose gold. Two of the prongs are rounded, and they meet the stone on either side of its rounded end. Completing this center setting is a Chevron prong that wraps smoothly around the pointed end of the tourmaline, both highlighting its elegant lines and protecting it from damage.
The client knew from the beginning that he wanted a specific shade of blue-green for the center stone, and so we suggested this particular gem as the best match to the sample he provided. He liked it very much, and we shared photos of the exact gem we sourced for his ring so that he could approve it specifically before we moved everything into production. Halo Engagement Rings
Diamond Halo and Accents
A contoured halo of split prong set diamonds surround the center tourmaline, and these bring a dazzling sparkle along with some classical flair to the piece. The shape of the halo also helps to highlight the clean lines of the larger stone, while the stones themselves shine additional light back up onto the center, helping to increase its shine. Split prong set diamonds also run down the shoulders of the shank to the mid-point on each side, and these tie in nicely with those in the halo to connect the two parts of the design.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
