Custom Vintage Style Asscher Diamond Engagement Ring

Asscher Cut Center
The largest diamond in this ring is a 1.01 carat Asscher cut diamond, and it’s prong set in 18k yellow gold. The diamond is rotated so that its corners sit at the compass positions, a detail that helps give shape to the entire center setting and that reinforces the Art Deco look the client was after. Diamond Engagement Rings
The choice of an Asscher cut, with its unique step-like placement of facets, was made specifically to enhance the snowflake design as well. The overall look of the ring was based on an inspiration piece the client shared with us, but utilizing the Asscher cut in the center really helped to make his custom piece unique.
Round and Baguette Accents
Radiating out from the center diamond are 24 tapered baguettes, which combine to total 0.37 carats, and 12 small round diamonds, all of which combined weigh 0.06 carats. The round stones are clustered in groups of three around the bases of all four prongs in the main setting, while the baguettes extend out lengthwise from the straight sides of the center stone as well as from the outer margins of the clusters of round diamonds. Taken together, this arrangement of diamonds creates the aesthetic the client was interested in, and it also brings a dazzling vintage flair to the piece. The contrast between the warm tones of the metal and the brilliant white of the diamonds helps to reinforce this, as does the lattice-like arrangement of the prongs below the main setting.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
