After meeting with him in our Bellevue, WA showroom, we developed a CAD model built to his specifications. He was able to view proofs of this model online, and once we’d made the one modification he requested, he gave approval to move forward with the production process. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Blue Sapphire Center
The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.53 carat oval blue sapphire that the client supplied. It has a dazzling fire, which is only intensified by the contrast with the 14k white gold it’s set in. The oval shape also pushes the piece in a more classical direction, and the stone is oriented to sit lengthwise across the band, helping to give the piece a good overall balance.
Diamond Halo and Amethyst Accents
Surrounding the center sapphire is a halo of round split prong set diamonds, which bring wonderful sparkle to the piece, while also adding some antique flair. Halos are a popular choice in engagement rings for a number of reasons, not the least of which being that the additional light they reflect up onto the larger gem helps it to shine more brightly. Halo Engagement Rings
The use of the split prong setting in this halo is a nod to the classical themes already present, and it’s the same type of setting that’s used on the four amethyst accents tucked in at the top of the shank shoulder.
These feature a rich purple color, and they add a wonderful layer of contrast while also serving as a personally-significant element for the couple. Our initial design had amethysts in the halo as well as on the band, but the client decided he preferred diamonds in the halo. He still wanted to keep the amethysts in some capacity, however, eventually settling on this configuration. Custom Engagement Rings

Joseph Jewelry
Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
