Platinum Custom Tension Style Diamond Engagement Ring
Item #103305Engagement Ring Description
The client initially visited our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to begin the custom design process. We then communicated with him via the online workroom we set up to manage his project, and he used this platform to approve the CAD models of his pieces so that we could begin production. Design Your Own Engagement Ring
Center Diamond and Accents
The main diamond in this ring is a 0.50 carat round brilliant cut stone, and it’s tension set between the two ends of the twisted palladium shank. The band is flat and straight most of the way around, but as it nears the top, it thickens vertically and begins to curl off to the left, leading it into perfect position to frame the large stone at the top.
Each of these twisted shank shoulders holds small round diamonds that are bright cut set in a line extending down to the mid-point on the band. These add a lovely sparkle and a glamorous flair to the design, and the choice of setting style helps introduce some classical overtones as well.
Intertwined Wedding Band
A narrow, flat wedding band passes directly below the center diamond, crossing from one side to the other as it intertwines with the shank of the engagement ring. The two pieces are soldered together at the bottom to keep them perfectly aligned, and the small wave in the wedding band at the top perfectly complements the movement in the engagement ring design, helping to unify the set. Matching Wedding Sets
The client had the engagement ring made first, and he then inquired about the options for making a matching wedding band. We shared several different designs with him, some of which would be soldered to the engagement ring and some that could remain separate. He chose to go with this intertwining option without accent diamonds, although those could be added to a piece like this as well if you’re interested in an even more dazzling display.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
