We met with her in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom several times during the custom design process so that she could view wax models of her piece and select the perfect blue sapphire. We also communicated with her through the online workroom we created to manage her project, and this is where we shared our CAD models of her piece, as well as where she was able to provide feedback on the various versions we created. Three-Stone Setting
At the top of this ring, a 1.06 carat cushion shaped blue sapphire sits in a four prong palladium setting. The client always knew she wanted a sapphire center for her ring, although she was undecided initially about whether she would go with a solitaire or three-stone ring. We showed her both options, and she decided she liked the three-stone best based on our recommendation due to the way the diamonds help the sapphire stand out. Blue Sapphire Engagement Rings
The shape of the side diamonds, however, was something she wasn’t sure about, and after beginning with round stones, we tried out cushion and trapezoid before settling on baguettes. These contrast nicely with the larger center stone, both in terms of color and shape, and that was the kind of look the client was after.
Band Design
This ring features a wide, flat band that includes a Euro shank design at the bottom. That means it has thicker corners on the lower portion that help to balance out the center setting and keep the ring from spinning on your finger. This was a detail the client always knew she wanted, although the actual shape of the band went through several alterations during the custom design process before we found the one she loved.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
