Salt And Pepper Diamond Modified Halo Engagement Ring
Item #104863Engagement Ring Description
You can start your own project by visiting either of our showrooms, customizing an existing ring on our website, or submitting a custom design form. You will be able to communicate with your designer through a private online messaging system, and we'll make sure you're 100% with your design at every step of the way.
Black Diamond Center
This diamond is considered "salt and pepper" because of its large black spots mixed with white. The client wanted to investigate different black diamonds, including natural versus treated, so we brought in several different stones for them to view. They ended up choosing this unique oval center stone. Diamond Engagement Rings
Modified Halo
A modified halo frames the center diamond. It is different than a traditional halo, which would have evenly spaced and sized diamonds all the way around in a continuous shape. For this halo, at each point of the compass, the halo slightly points outward. Then, the halo slightly curves inward and pinches in at each prong point where the prongs are holding the center stone in the ring. Unique Engagement Rings
The band of this ring flows with the style of the halo. Every three diamonds, the band pinches inward on both sides, creating a scalloped look.
Customization Options
This ring could be customized in so many ways. With a morganite center stone and rose gold metal, the look would become much warmer. On the other hand, adding milgrain to the current design would add a vintage aesthetic.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
