Blue Topaz Center
At the heart of this design, a 1.96 carat cushion shaped blue topaz is prong set in 14k white gold. It’s oriented to sit with its corners at the compass positions, and this is also where the prongs meet the stone. The rotated arrangement adds a dynamic movement to the piece, and it helps to highlight the elegant lines of the cut.
The topaz is also considered a checkerboard cut because of the way the facets are arranged across its top surface. This leads to a pattern of dark and light squares that alternates as the stone is viewed from different angles, and that brings some added dramatic flair to the piece as well. Fashion Rings
Diamond Halo and Accents
Surrounding the topaz is a contoured halo of small, round diamonds that are all split prong set in white gold. They send extra light up onto the center stone, helping to increase its shine, and they also add a glamorous sparkle to the piece. The diamonds in the halo tie in nicely with those running down the shank shoulders, which are also split prong set and about the same size.

Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
