Center Amethyst and Halo
At the top of this ring, a 1.39 carat cushion shaped amethyst is held in place by four prongs made of 14k white gold. The stone is oriented so that two of its rounded corners sit inline with the band, and the other two extend out above and below, and these corners are also where the prongs meet the amethyst. This positioning creates a more dramatic presentation and produces a vaguely star-like quality for the center setting.
Surrounding this center stone is a halo of small round diamonds that are all split prong set in white gold. They bring their own glamorous sparkle to the piece, and they also help to enhance the brilliance of the main stone by reflecting more light up onto it from below. Fashion Rings
Band Design and Diamond Accents
The band is narrow and straight, rising up to meet the solid side of the center setting below the level of the halo. The shank shoulders are lined with split prong set diamonds as well, and this detail helps make a connection between the two sections of the piece. All together, the accent diamonds in this ring total 0.14 carats.
