Description
This elegant women’s fashion ring features a marquise cut citrine set off-center and at an angle at the top of the knife edge, yellow gold band. It was created for a client from Los Angeles, CA, who visited our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to begin the custom design process. She had the gem that she wanted us to use already, and she’d also found an inspiration piece that she wanted to model her design on.

We used the information she provided on her initial visit to inform our first set of CAD models. She viewed these online through the workroom we set up to manage her project, and she requested some changes to create a slightly different look. We repeated this process a few times until she was sure every detail was perfect, and we then turned things over to our expert artisans to begin production. Design Your Own Ring
Citrine Solitaire
The centerpiece of this ring is a 0.47 carat marquise cut citrine with a beautiful yellow glow. It was a stone that the client already had and that she was hoping to have set in a new custom design built to show off it’s excellent features.
The stone is set just slightly off of center in this ring, and inline with the band. It’s also angled upward on one end, giving it a unique and asymmetrical aesthetic. The way the setting curves up along the corners of the stone helps to highlight its clean lines and elegant shape, and the openness on the sides of the citrine allow plenty of light to reach the stone. Band Design
The band is made of 14k yellow gold, and it’s asymmetrical as well, with the narrowest point at the bottom. It widens moving up each side, but much more dramatically on the side that eventually meets the top of the stone, and that makes the presentation of the citrine all the more striking. The band also features a soft knife edge that complements the shape of the center stone nicely.

3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
