Center Amethyst
The centerpiece of this ring is a large trillion amethyst with a rich purple color. It’s bezel set in yellow gold, and the contrast this creates really helps to draw out the lovely and complex tones of the gem. The bezel setting is also incomplete, with one corner of the stone being left exposed due to the asymmetrical design of the band. This introduces another level of intricacy to the design, and it contributes to its unique, contemporary look.
Halo and Band Design
A halo of round channel set diamonds surrounds the center amethyst, providing a wonderful sparkle and an additional layer of contrast to the design. The halo is also missing a corner, just as the bezel setting is, and this provides just the right counterpoint to the structural elements included in the band below.
The corner of the amethyst without a halo is met from below by two strands of the split shank, which come up to intersect the inside of the halo and the corner of the basket below the center stone respectively. Between these two strands, a round accent diamond is bezel set, and this serves as an anchor for that side of the band. On the other side of the main setting, the band comes up as one solid piece, but it widens much more dramatically as it joins the side of the halo.

An elegant custom scroll filigree fills the space around and below the center setting, giving the ring some classical flair and helping to add a delicate grace to the design.
