Description
This beautiful engagement ring features a cluster of gemstones, including diamonds, a blue sapphire, and two opals. It was created for a client in Newport News, VA, who worked with our experts online to perfect this unique design. Thanks to the advanced 3D imaging technology we use, we were able to come up with exactly the ring he and his fiancee wanted even though they were unable to visit our Bellevue, WA showroom in person.

Clustered Gemstones
The gemstones in this ring are all bezel set, and they’re clustered together in a slightly asymmetrical pattern that gives the ring a decidedly contemporary feel. One of the diamonds is slightly larger than the others, as well, as a way of offering a nod to the more traditional solitaire-style engagement ring.
In addition to the diamonds, this ring also includes a blue sapphire, which provides a stunning contrast to the bright white of the diamonds and was also a way for our client to incorporate his fiancees favorite color into the ring.
The opals on either end of the gemstone cluster help tie things together, and they add their own unique properties to the ring at the same time. Opals are associated with happiness, loyalty, hope, and purity, making them a fitting choice for an engagement ring. And they also offer a nice contrast in terms of both sheen and color to this particular piece.
Metal Choices
This ring features a platinum band, which is the perfect choice for holding so many gemstones securely due to its superior strength. It also exhibits a lovely silver color that won’t fade or tarnish over time, even under the rigors of everyday wear. However, if you prefer a different color or a slightly different look, yellow and rose gold are also great options to consider.
Customization Options
Using a different metal for the band is one way to customize this design to better reflect your individual style, but there are others. For instance, you could substitute your favorite gemstone for the blue sapphire, or for all of the gemstones in the piece. Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.

- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

Coverage conditions
For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
