Blue Sapphires
The princess cut blue sapphires in this ring are the only gemstones, and they’re each bezel set in platinum. They’re also oriented with their corners at the compass positions, and they're evenly spaced around the middle of the band.
The rich blue of the sapphires brings a gorgeous contrast to the piece, and this is a detail that’s easily customizable, as sapphires are available in a wide range of colors. Of course, you could also use a different type of gemstone, as white or colored diamonds would fill this role nicely, and you might also consider switching to a different cut of stone to achieve a look that’s more in line with your tastes as well. Celtic Knot Design
Nearly the entire top surface of this ring is covered with a pattern of engraving in a Celtic knot-inspired design. It flows smoothly into the settings of the sapphires, as the lines and angles of both complement each other nicely. The engraved pattern is also accented with black antiquing in the recessed areas to help the design stand out and bring another layer of contrast to the piece. Celtic Rings
Band Design and Customization
The band is made of platinum, and it features narrow rails that run along each side of the engraved section, framing it and bringing a nice balance to the design. The width of the band is something you may want to adjust as part of the customization process, and any changes you make in that area would impact the appearance of the engraving as well.
The best way to determine how wide of a ring you prefer is to try on several of varying widths to see what’s most comfortable for you. You can do this in our showroom or on a visit to your local jeweler, and we can also show you what rings in different widths would look like through our CAD models so you can make an informed decision about exactly how to get the look you’re after.

Customize
Use this design as a starting point for a custom piece.
Discuss the stones, metal, proportions, setting and finish with a designer, online or in our Seattle and Bellevue showrooms. You can bring reference photographs or your own stone for us to assess.
Design and estimate
The initial design and estimate are free, with no obligation. Your designer discusses the materials, changes and budget with you before you commit.
3D design review
After you accept the estimate and make a down payment, we create a 3D CAD model and rendered views. Revisions within the initial design parameters are included; changes to materials or their amounts are re-estimated.
Physical model
A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.
