14K Gold And 14k Yellow Gold Custom Opal And Diamond Fashion Ring
Item #102117Fashion Ring Description
The remote client approached our Custom Design Team experts with a list of four design elements that he wanted incorporated into a fashion ring for his fiancee. The list included an infinity symbol on the band, a gold heart holding the center gemstone, the number '42' in filigree under the center gemstone, and a blue gem, which is his fiancee's favorite color, with red hues. The ring design, as well as the number '42', were of great significance to his fiancee and inspired by her favorite novel. In the novel, the number 42 was the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything".
Our expert Custom Design Team created a ring that incorporated the client's wish list to symbolize love, life and the universe to his fiancee. This two-tone 14 karat white and yellow gold ring features a prong set cabochon black opal as the center gemstone surrounded by yellow gold heart shaped filigree. On the shoulders of the 14 karat gold shank are three round diamond clusters that are set in heart shaped filigree. Under the opal center gemstone is the number '42'.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
