Green Quartz Center
At the heart of this design, a 6.75 carat round checkerboard cut green quartz is cradled in a double prong setting made of 14k white gold. These prongs curl up delicately around the girdle of the stone, and they add a decorative element while also providing structural stability. The checkerboard cut gets its name from the arrangement of facets across the top of the stone that produces the distinctive pattern of light and dark sections, adding to the dynamic presentation of the piece.
A halo of split prong set diamonds surrounds the quartz, but rather than follow the contours of the stone, it curves in and out on its way around to create a scalloped edge. This gives the center setting as a whole a floral feel, and the diamonds in the halo bring their own glamorous flair to the piece as well.
