Solitaire Amethyst
At the top of this ring, a 0.88 carat amethyst is bezel set in 14k white gold. The stone is cushion shaped, and the arrangement of its facets gives it a distinctive checkerboard look, producing different patterns of light and dark depending on the angle it’s viewed from. The fact that this amethyst is the only gemstone in the ring makes it a solitaire design.
The bezel setting holding the stone provides protection to its edges while also helping to highlight the perfect lines of the cut. This type of setting produces a lower profile as well, making it a good choice if you’re concerned about your stone sitting up higher and potentially catching on things. Fashion Rings
Milgrain and Decorative Beading
Double rows of milgrain beading line the bezel setting of the amethyst, and these create a delicate frame while also bringing some vintage flair to the design. This overarching theme ties in nicely with the shape and cut of the stone in the center, as well as the embellishments on the sides of the center setting.
These additional design details include filigree triangles evenly spaced between the base of the main setting and the top portion holding the stone. Each of the triangles holds three larger decorative beads, and a line of larger beads also runs around the side of the setting above and below the space that the triangles fill. Milgrain lines each of these details as well, enhancing the vintage themes of the design while also producing a satisfying, finished look for the ring.

A full-size wax model can be made to review scale, shape and proportions before production. It can be viewed in a showroom or shipped to you.
Approval and production
The design is approved before production begins. Your designer confirms the schedule, and our jewelers make, set and finish the piece.
Quality
Our custom jewelry follows design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support and setting security.
- Structure and support
- The setting must have enough metal to support the stones and hold its shape through everyday wear. If an area needs more support, we address it before production.
- Diamond and gemstone selection
- We help you choose stones for your custom design, reviewing cut, color, clarity, consistency and fit. Your budget guides these choices; our standards for materials and craftsmanship remain the same.
- Final inspection
- Before completion, we review each custom piece for proportion, comfort, stone security and finish.

For Joseph Jewelry custom pieces, coverage begins with your signature. To keep it active, Joseph Jewelry must inspect and sign for your piece every six months and perform recommended repairs and maintenance.
Repairs due to normal wear and tear are the owner's responsibility. Damage, abuse or alterations can void coverage. Customers outside Washington pay shipping both ways for inspections or repairs, plus applicable duty or customs fees.
