Item #100012Men's Wedding Band Description
If you’re interested in having a ring made, you can visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally, or you can reach out to us through the Ring Builder feature on our website. We work with clients from across the country and all over the world, and we’re committed to making the piece of your dreams, no matter what type of style or features you’re looking for.
Band Design
This band is platinum and 9mm wide in total. One half of its surface is flat and brushed, giving the metal a somewhat softer appearance. The other half holds the mokume gane inlay, which also features a brushed finish but is set down slightly lower than the platinum on either side.
Bordering the mokume on the outside is a thinner platinum rail, and this is polished to a high shine. The contrast between the matte surface on the rest of the ring and the polish on the rail is subtle, as the surface area of the rail is not that big, but it does help highlight the separation and asymmetry of the design.
Mokume Gane Inlay
The mokume itself is a beautiful combination of 14k rose gold and sterling silver. Its pattern is reminiscent of wood grain, and it’s the product of a special forging process that our artisans have mastered. Mokume Jewelry
The technique used to make mokume gane was developed several hundred years ago in Japan, and it was originally used to make decorative sheaths and handles for samurai swords. Over time, it was adapted for use in fine jewelry as well, and there are quite a few options when it comes to the combinations of metal you can use and the style of pattern that will appear in the finished piece.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
