Custom Diamond Mokume Men's Wedding Band
Item #103359Men's Wedding Band Description
He found several rings that he wanted to borrow from in creating a unique design, and we used these as a basis for the CAD models we put together. He was happy with the images we shared online, and after confirming all the details, gave his approval for us to move into production.
Mokume Gane Inlay
The middle section of this ring is dominated by a mokume gane inlay that runs all the way around the band. It’s made of 14k palladium white gold and sterling silver, and it’s based on the pattern in a mokume piece the client found in our showcase. Mokume Jewelry
The technique used to create the elegant and organic patterns seen in mokume pieces was developed several hundred years ago in Japan. It involves layering thin sheets of the different metals together and then fusing them in a particular way. Due to the nature of this process, no two mokume pieces will ever be exactly the same, but we can use the same technique to generate about an 80% pattern match to an inspiration piece. Band Design and Diamond Accents
Unplated white gold rails frame the mokume section, and their soft champagne color helps to draw out the warm tones of the white gold in the mokume. To make the separation between the rails and inlay more clear, however, we also applied contrasting finishes, with the center sandblasted and the rails polished.
The overall shape of the band is square, with the round inner surface domed to create a comfort fit. On one ring front, round diamonds are flush set in each corner, and on the other, an aquamarine, a diamond, a pink tourmaline, and a blue sapphire are flush set in the same positions. Our original design had diamonds on both sides, but the client wanted to add a more personal touch, and so the second side includes his birthstone as well as those of his wife and two children.
Details
To reduce color fading, avoid friction against any surface. Avoid wearing your mokume ring during exercise, construction work, gardening, or other abrasive activities. When owning a mokume gane ring with oxidization, avoid chlorine or other similar chemicals as they eat away the patina.

Customizing This Design
Any Joseph Jewelry item can be customized or used as the starting point for a new custom design. The gemstones, metal, proportions, setting style, surface details, and overall profile can be adjusted to better match your preferences, style, and budget.
Every custom piece begins with a conversation about what you want to create and what matters most to you. You work one-on-one with a designer to refine the concept, review the design direction, and create a detailed 3D CAD image of the item before it is made.
After the design is approved, we can create a wax model so you can review the piece physically. This step helps you evaluate scale, proportions, shape, and overall presence before final production begins.
Once the wax model is approved, our jewelers craft the finished piece with attention to structure, finish, stone security, and long-term wear. Each adjustment is reviewed carefully so the final item feels intentional, balanced, and made specifically for you.
You do not need to have every detail figured out before starting. If you like this item but want to change the stone, metal, size, shape, width, engraving, or overall style, we can guide those decisions through the custom design process.
Quality & Craftsmanship
At Joseph Jewelry, quality begins with the structure. We follow strict design and construction standards for metal thickness, weight, stone support, setting security, and long-term durability. These details help ensure the item is substantial enough for everyday wear while still maintaining a refined appearance.
We do not design custom jewelry to be unnecessarily thin or fragile. If a setting, band, gallery, or accent detail needs more support, we address it before production begins. The goal is to protect the stones, preserve the shape of the ring, and create a piece that can be worn confidently over time.
Gemstone selection is also part of our quality process. We help choose the center stone, side stones, and melee diamonds used in each ring, reviewing them for cut, color, clarity, consistency, and how well they fit the design. Even when a ring is designed around a specific budget, we maintain careful standards for the materials and craftsmanship that determine the quality of the finished piece.
Before completion, each custom piece is reviewed for proportion, comfort, stone security, finishing, and long-term wear.
Care & Warranty
All Joseph Jewelry custom pieces are supported by our lifetime warranty. We also provide long-term care, including complimentary cleaning and regular inspection, so your jewelry can be maintained properly over time.
Routine inspection is especially valuable for pieces worn every day. It allows the setting, stones, and overall structure to be checked as the jewelry is worn.
